“VIRGINIA AT TOP IN RANGE SCORES”
Posted on 16. Sep, 2011 by jkrebsbach.
That was the front page headlines in the Mesabi Daily News of Friday, September 16, 2011. The article goes on to say that “The Virginia Schools led the pack in Range school districts in standardized statewide test scores in reading and mathematics in 2010-11.”
Once again our students and staff have proven that they are working hard to improve learning at ISD 706. While we are proud of this accomplishment, we will continue to strive for improvement during the 2011-12 school year. Congratulations Parkview Learning Center, Roosevelt Elementary and Virginia High School, good job!

After-school Plans for Students
Posted on 15. Sep, 2011 by jkrebsbach.
Dear Roosevelt Parents:
Your kids are so important to us. We need your help. Please communicate with your child, before they come to school, about where they are suppose to go after school. We seem to have an increased need to use the phone because a student doesn’t know what they are suppose to do or where they are suppose to go.
Another form of this is a student wanting to change plans for what they do after school. We highly discourage this because then it becomes nearly impossible for us to keep track of your child. The safety and security of your children are of the utmost concern for us, and we want to make sure we deliver them back to you every night. Changes in plans or not knowing plans makes this very difficult for us.
I know how busy things are, but please have a plan and make a plan each day so we can keep good track of your most precious cargo.
If you ever do have a change, please call the office at 218-742-3944 well before 2:30 pm so we can get the message out as soon as possible.
Thank you.
